So this is what a model shoot is like

I recently attended WPPI in Las Vegas -  a photography conference full of inspirational amazingness. My friend Jenn put together a model shoot  for the second year in a row. Yay, #glamthedesert! Because I was rooming with Jenn in Vegas I got to witness how much work goes into putting something like this together. Lots of people are involved to make it happen! This brings me to the couple pictured below.

Meet Fernando and Tiare.  They are not getting married and they are not in love.  They know each other about as well as I do, which is to say not at all, and for them this what work looks like.  I know all of this to be true, but looking at them together and in this setting, I'd prefer to think otherwise!

Fernando and Tiare are models and damn good ones. Photographing models, let alone models in the desert, is something entirely new to me. Initially I thought I would not be able to capture the genuine emotions I always search for between people.  I'm so happy to have been so wrong.  It was so much fun talking to and directing Fernando and Tiare - it definitely boosted my confidence in working with "real" couples on their wedding day.

Just start

This is my fist blog post and I am feeling inspired to show more of my images after attending a photography conference (WPPI) where I met so many creatives that put themselves out there everyday.

This family session took place in late February this year. We photographed in Belmont, CA at Water Dog Lake trail. I love photographing family's and this one was no exception. They were warm and open and truly showed me the love they have for one another.
